Be A Part Of It!
- Volunteer your time working in the classroom – whether that
be cutting art supplies, working with a reading group or going on a
field trip. Each teacher will discuss these options during back-to-school
night.
- Volunteer your time as a PTA board member, chairperson, or committee
member – whether that be handing out refreshments or helping out
at an event like the Father / Daugther Dance. Click
here for a list of activities sponsored by the PTA and volunteer
opportunities. For a list of job descriptions and procedures of all
jobs, click
here, and you will be taken to the California PTA website. Cause
let’s face it, nobody wants to take on a job without being told
what is expected and how to accomplish the job. Whether you´ve
got 1 hour or 20 hours a month to give, the school could use your help.
By volunteering, you will think less of the free time you´re giving
up and more of what you´ll be gaining:
- Watching how your child interacts at school; it can be very enlightening
to see how your child is growing and changing.
- You´ll gain insight into the inner working of the teachers
and the school.
- You might pick up a new talent or improve on an old one.
- And quite possibly, you´ll make some new friends. And who
couldn´t use another friend to call when you´re home sick
with the flu and you need somebody to bring your child home from school.
